Collaborative Law
Practice: I practice collaborative law at Healers of Conflicts Law & Conflict Resolution Center and I'm a member of the Collablaw.org attorney team.
Coaching: I've been working as a coach with lawyers since around 2000. Many of my clients have shifted their practices to a collaborative approach and I've worked with them to make the paradigm shift.
Training & Consulting: I am a co-founder of the local Western North Carolina Collablaw.org group and have helped to start collaborative law groups in other communities. I've recently led (or co-led) the following:
-Family Lawyers as Peacemakers? Basic Training in Collaborative Law (Asheville, May 2006)
-Advanced Collaborative Law Training, “A Potpourri of Skills for Being a More Effective Collaborative Lawyer” (Ithaca, May, 2006)
-No Borders, No Barriers, Collaborative Practice for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual/ Transgender Clients & Their Families (Niagara Falls, Ontario, June, 2006.)
Leadership: I am a founding member of the IACP Task Force on Inclusivity, Diversity, and Accessibility and have been writing, speaking, and educating people about collaborative law for over ten years. I was also a panelist at the IACP conference in Atlanta in October, 2005 with the topic of access to justice/multi-cultural practices.
