Honoring Conflict
as an Opportunity for Transformation
Tools and Practices for You and Your Clients
A 7-Session Class (over 8 weeks) by Telephone

What would it be like if lawyers approached every conflict can be an opportunity for transformation? What if we knew how to honor conflict in our own lives so we could help clients honor it in theirs? What might we learn about ourselves and others? How might we grow in ways that we couldn't grow as solitary beings?

Conflict is a natural part of life. Two plants compete for a few square inches of soil. Two people want to sit in this chair. Two friends have very different political views. Two parents love each other - and they don't see eye-to-eye about money management or what's best for their children.

The good news is that there is nothing wrong with conflict. Relationships and the natural conflicts that result are the tools for personal growth, deep inner healing and transforming our lives. We’ll always have differences. What's important is how we deal with them. We can have the same old arguments again and again, with no resolution in sight and feel the pain as the distance grows between us. We can avoid the conflict, creating distance, separation, and no solution. Or we can honor conflict and learn how to resolve it skillfully, creating a renewed sense of connection between committed partners - or between parents who are going their separate ways, but will always be related as parents. Whatever the focus of your law practice, conflict is present and presents an opportunity for a new relationship between the parties in a dispute and with the idea of conflict itself.

The Promises of this Workshop:

You will gain tools and practices for yourself and your clients:

• To deal with any ‘conflict’ in life.

• To create boundaries.

• To find the highest and best action to take in any conflictual situation.

• To experience the peace of honoring yourself, others and the world.

‘Conflict’ will become an opportunity for transformation rather than a ‘problem.’

About your teleclass leaders:

“Judith's coaching has had concrete and substantial impacts on my life. She has assisted me in transforming a problem into an expanded professional portfolio and a financial opportunity. Her intuition and listening are powerful skills from which outcomes flow.” -- Biology Researcher, New Mexico

"I am learning to honor myself and to re-learn it when I forget. I am much more at peace with myself." -- Educational consultant, Chicago

"Kim helps me to see possibilities where I see obstacles. She helps me see around the obstacles. She is positive and supportive, but analytical at the same time. She has experience and knowledge about the various types of emerging types of legal practice and justice ideas so that she can help people who are vaguely interested in doing something different learn what exactly it is that they are interested in. Then, she has good ideas about how to make it work-how to go about doing that." -- Attorney, North Carolina

Logistics: All classes will be conducted via telephone conference line.

Day and Time: Friday mornings, 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM Eastern Time
Length: 6 sessions over 7 weeks (4 consecutive weeks, a 1-week break, 2 consecutive weeks)
Dates: TBA

Fees & Payment:
We are expecting to charge $199 per person for the course. We plan to offer CLE credit in several states.

We want to acknowledge and recognize that the participants in the trial run class will be giving us feedback that is valuable to us. We've also found that people tend to show up at a level consistent with their investment. We're asking each participant of the trial run to pay the amount of money that will guarantee their presence (both their body and attention) at all  sessions. Also, in deciding how much to pay, look to see what the support is worth to you and your practice. Look at your other financial commitments. We anticipate that some of you may need to pay hundreds of dollars while some may see that they can make that guarantee for very little (or even in some cases nothing). Give it some thought. Check in with your own integrity. We promise to be completely satisfied with the amount you choose. Please communicate with one of us either by phone or email about this before the first call. It is important that we be clear about this.
